GRAZE - Friction

A scraped lower leg with exposed raw skin, light bleeding, and surrounding redness, the kind of friction injury that stops bleeding quickly but stays visibly sore. Responders will instantly recognise it as minor but painful, making it ideal for triage practice, wound assessment basics, or scenarios where casualties have multiple injuries of varying severity.

  • Urban multi-casualty drill where responders must triage a group of pedestrians after a traffic incident; this graze sits alongside more serious wounds, teaching speed and priority assessment under time pressure.
  • First-aid or wilderness training scenario set at a sports or outdoor site: a runner or cyclist has fallen, and the trainee must decide whether to clean and bandage on-site or refer for further care.
